In close cooperation with prof. dr. ir. H.E.H. Meijer, an expert in extruders, rheology and upscaling at Technical University of Eindhoven (TUE), Netherlands, Xplore recently derived an upscaling protocol for its micro compounding instruments.
This protocol enables our customer to derive the best screw design and optimum processing conditions for larger conventional parallel twin-screw extruders, based on a thorough analysis of some systematic, well-designed experiments with the same formulation in an Xplore conical twin-screw micro compounder/extruder in recirculation. The experimental series and review is straightforward and takes less than half a day in total.
This upscaling protocol is available to customers of Xplore MC 5, MC 15 HT or PME 5 instruments.
